PHASE 1 Rollout: TRAUMA, CULTURE and the IMPACTS in RURAL WOMEN, RESEARCH PROJECT
RURAL, UNITED STATES
A research project based on interviews conducted virtually from women across rural communities (Interview Collection runs 12/1/22-4/30/23), focused on how our culture affects how we navigate and narrate trauma. Specific to women’s trauma from interpersonal violence including domestic, gender-based, childhood and sexual violence.
The results of this project will be used to advocate for better practices and policies through educating leaders. While creating a deeper understanding of the impacts of rural culture post trauma, and to support and empower those that have experienced violence that they are not alone. Too often our evidence based comes from narrowed populations, topics or sourced from urban areas, this often leads to less than effective to at times harmful programs and trainings. We strive to meet people where they are, which means asking those people.

MMMMM, A myriad of musings of a mecurial, messy, magic, Matriarch life
A blog space where I randomly, and most often, infrequently post short writings from my own lived experiences and perspectives. Trigger warning: domestic and sexual violence, childhood trauma, eating disorders, sex, intimacy and general life fuckery are spoken of.
